Online entries for the Hot Cross Bun Duathlon have now closed but you can still enter on the morning of the event Sunday 1st April at Victoria Park Keighley, West Yorkshire, BD21 3JN.On the day registration starts in the Keighley Leisure Centre from 8am.The cost will still be £25 plus £3 day insurance. If you are already a member of British Triathlon then bring proof of membership with you and will not need to buy the £3 day insurance.
This event commences at 9am. The format of the event is a 5km run, followed by a 20km cycle ride and then a 5km run to finish. Or enter as a relay team of 2, where one of you will cycle and the other will run.
The run route takes you from the start line in Victoria Park through the underpass and along the Airedale Greenway to the newly refurbished Cliffe Castle Park. After completing a loop of this its back along the Airedale Greenway to Victoria Park and the transition zone in the MUGA where only participants and officials will be allowed to enter, ensuring the security of the bikes.
Exiting the MUGA, participants then take on a 20km ride up to Bronte Country including a climb of the iconic Haworth Main Street and Penistone Hill. The route then goes to Oxenhope where you pass the entrance to Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice which benefits from this event. Then it’s back to Victoria Park and the transition zone before a repeat of the 5km run. At the finish all participants will receive a medal and, as its Easter day a hot cross bun.
