By the end of the season the Eastern Region League will have identified the best regional triathlete racing across the regions league fixtures. An individuals best five positions count to the league with those five comprising two sprint distance, two longer distance events (standard and middle) and then the better of their 3rd sprint or 3rd longer distance results.
With the first two races done, our early leaders are:
- Lucy Gossage, Cambridge Tri Club - Senior Ladies.
- Joanne Sullivan, East Essex Tri Club - Veteran Ladies.
- John Jacobs, Tri-Anglia - Senior Men
- Jamie Sparrow, King's Lynn Tri Club - Veteran Men.
New for 2015 is the introduction of a Club League where the points from the best two ladies and best three men at an event are added together, then across the season the clubs best five results are added together in the same way as an individuals best five results are identified.
Sixteen of the regions clubs have now earned points, with Tri-Anglia toping the Club League ahead of East Essex Tri, Chalkwell Redcaps and Blackwater Tri.
The league can be viewed here.
Ten more events of the League are still yet to take place, so the above will certainly change, particularly as the regions three championship races each carry an extra 20% point bonus.
