Age Group athletes add their names to British Age Group Team

Great Britain Age Group team qualification events took place in County Durham and Grendon, Northamptonshire this weekend with athletes booking their places for the World and European Championships.

The RedVenom.co.uk/Tri It ITU World Aquathlon Championship Qualifier at Hetton Lyons Park, County Durham was the final Aquathlon qualification event for the PruHealth World Triathlon Grand Final London, 11-15 September in Hyde Park.

The top seven athletes in each five year age band who registered with British Triathlon will be eligible to represent the Great Britain Age Group team in London. The event attracted entries from all age groups up to 65-69, which was won by Trace Allen.

Grendon Lakes in rural Northamptonshire provided the setting for 2014 ETU Triathlon Sprint Championship qualification. The top finishers in each age category will be invited to represent Great Britain in Kitzbuhel next summer.

There are two further qualification events scheduled for the Sprint event at the 2014 European Championships. These are the Rother Valley Sprint Triathlon on 8/9 June 2013 and the Newbiggin Sprint Triathlon on 1 September 2013.
