British Triathlon opens applications for the 2010 Paratriathlon Performance Squad

British Triathlon is pleased to announce the opening of the 2010 Paratriathlon Performance Squad applications.

Pleased find attached two application documents, the first being an introduction to the process and the second being an application form.

For any athletes wishing to apply, please ensure you return your completed application form by Monday 4th January 2010, if then successful at this stage you will be invited to a selection day in Loughborough on the 23rd January 2010.

The criteria for this first stage of the 2010 selection process are as follows:

  • Proven competition history in Triathlon or one of the component disciplines
  • Commitment for long term improvement
  • Ambition to be a world class Triathlete

Jonathon Riall, National Paratriathlon Programme Manager commented: “ I am really excited to see the talented athletes we have come together for this selection day and to begin the process of working together as a team dedicated to being the best in the world. This squad will grow and develop but its overall aim is very much to mirror the existing performance set up for non disabled athletes and ultimately win medals at World, European and long term Paralympic games. This will be no easy task for anybody but with a team of athletes and support staff who are committed, dedicated and driven to the cause I believe it is very achievable”.

British Triathlon understands the requirements needed to become a world class athlete and first and foremost is personal commitment to long term development, therefore if you do not have a history in Triathlon, but you do in another similar sport we would welcome your applications, and if any further information is required please feel free to contact Jonathon Riall, the National Paratriathlon Programme Manager.
