Voting open for North West Awards


Running alongside the national awards the North West Regional Awards voting has open, you have until 5pm on Friday 24th October to make your choice. Follow this link to vote www.britishtriathlon.org/awards and below are the nominations.

Coach of the Year

Tony Jolly – Tony is a committed coach for Manchester Triathlon Club. Tony takes a number of sessions each week after he took his level one, two and three all in the space of two years. Tony who has a family also runs the North West Senior Series and is on the North West Regional Committee

Ian Murphy – Ian is the Head Coach at Tri Preston. Ian is new to the role and has taken to it like a duck to water. Ian has implemented training plan for the club providing people with information on when and where the training sessions are taking place. Ian also takes regular coaching sessions himself and is held in high regard in the Club and the North West.

Andy Rawley – Andy is the regular Coach at Warrington Tri Club and also at the Mazda North West Region Academy. Andy is a keen and enthusiastic coach and is always on hand at the Academy to pass on the secret tips of racing which has helped the juniors out and members of his club. Andy is an integral part of Warrington Tri Club who assists in driving the coaching forward th the club and is always keen to improve his own knowledge.

Volunteer


Andy Fardon – Andy is a major part of the workings of Manchester Tri Club. Andy works tirelessly for the club and its members.One of Andy’s biggest achievements this year was assisting with the smooth running of the Boundary Breeze Event.

Sarah Arragon – It wouldn’t be too drastic to say that without Sarah her club Arragons Tri probably wouldn’t run as smooth as it does now. Sarah holds a number of positions on the clubs committee and always has time to assist club members with any queries they have. This is despite her helping run Arragons Cycle Centre and training for events herself. Sarah was a major factor in getting the club up and running catering for triathletes in the Penrith area and beyond.

Jan Smith – Jan was a member of the North West Committee until last year when she stepped down after three years service. However Jan stayed with the committee to oversee the smooth transition of the accounts, this has taken a little longer then we thought but Jan has always been on hand to help. Jan does not come from a tri back ground having been asked by a friend of hers to help with the accounts, however Jan has been seen volunteering at events this year, some not even in the North West.

Referee

Sue Taylor – Sue is an eager and fun referee who deserves her credit. Sue came into the sport through her husband Paul and found that she really enjoyed volunteering at events in particular refereeing. Sue has also taken on the Event and Referees Officer position on the North West Committee

Duncan Tindall - Duncan is a level two referee who is a valuable asset to the North West. Duncan is a keen and enthusiastic referee who is always willing to help out and assist any other way he can volunteering.
