Gordon Benson won the Penza ETU Triathlon European U23 Championships in Russia with a winning margin of three seconds.

The 20 year-old Leeds based university student was part of a close race with Vincente Hernandez (ESP) and Pedro Mendes (POR) but showed he was the faster runner on the day to cross the finishing line in first place.

Team mates David Bishop and Liam Lloyd finished 16^th and 17^th whilst Hannah Drewett finished 15^th in the women’s race.
