This weekend see's a number of our British triathletes making their season débuts in the Italian municipality of Cagliari. They will face some top names as athletes battle for those final important Olympic qualification points...

What: Cagliari ITU Triathlon World Cup

When: Sunday 8 May

Where: This will be the first time the Italian island of Sardinia is to host an ITU Triathlon World Cup, with some-120 athletes lining up to complete the sprint distance course on Sunday. From the pontoon they will complete a one-lap 750m swim before travelling four laps, totalling 18km, through the narrow streets of the Old Town by bike. A 5km run by the sea front will decide who gets onto the podium.

Who: British Sprint Triathlon Champion, Morgan Davies, and bronze medallist, David Bishop, line up in a 77-strong men’s field on Sunday. Davies will be looking to see how well winter training has gone in his first run out of the year, whilst Bishop will be keen to build on his 24th place posting in Madrid last weekend.

Georgia Taylor-Brown makes a welcomed return to the scene after having ruled out the previous two seasons with injury. The former Junior European Champion will line up alongside Baku European Games representative and training partner, Heather Sellars, with India Lee and Chloe Cook taking up the final places in the British female quartet.
