Club's come and get involved!

An action packed weekend of multisport competition is set to give opportunity for nearly 1,300 people of all abilities to get involved, on Saturday 11th June before the spotlight falls on the world’s best triathlon talent in Roundhay Park on Sunday 12th of June.

The Saturday will kick off with the British Youth & Junior Aquathlon, bringing together the cream of the crop of Britain’s young triathletes. The race will act as part of the British Triathlon Youth & Junior Super Series where athletes go head to head in a battle to collect points across five nationwide events in some of the country’s most exciting venues. The race, as part of Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon Leeds, will mark the second event in the 2016 series.

Action continues with the Triathlon England – National Aquathlon Championships where athletes will battle for a coveted National title. The course begins with 750m swim before athletes tackle a two-lap 5km run through Roundhay Park.

The third dose of Saturday’s action comes in the form of GO TRI. Tailored specifically for newcomers to the sport, the event will provide the opportunity for 500 entrants to experience a triathlon taster in a fun and relaxed environment. Together, entrants will have the option of taking on the ‘Triathlon’ wave including a 200m swim, 10km bike and 2.5km run, tacking a ‘Pedal & Plod’ wave for those preferring not to swim, or a ‘Splash & Dash’ wave, removing the bike element.

The final spectacle as part of Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon Leeds’ Saturday calendar is the TriStar Performance Triathlon. Open to all Tri Start 2 and Tri Star 3 competitors, the race will offer a unique opportunity for the country’s young triathletes to be part of the action, featuring an iconic finish in front of the Mansion House.

Alongside this fantastic sport spectacle we will also be running a Sports Expo, based next to the finish line in Roundhay Park.
