The world’s best triathletes are coming to town

Published:

With just one month to go until the world’s fastest triathletes battle it out in Hyde Park London at the Vitality World Triathlon London, organisers are urging triathlon fans to secure the last remaining grandstand tickets before they sell out entirely.

The Vitality World Triathlon London takes place on 31st May and fans can secure the best seats in the house to watch the world’s fastest triathletes go head to head in a thrilling ITU World Triathlon Series race by purchasing grandstand tickets.

The season is really hotting up with Alistair Brownlee returning to the top of the podium in Cape Town after missing the start of the season through injury. Jonathan Brownlee is also in great form after winning in his previous two races in Auckland and the Gold Coast. The Vitality World Triathlon London will see the brother’s race alongside each other for the first time this season.

In the women’s ITU World Triathlon Series the impressive Gwen Jorgensen has kept her record-breaking unbeaten streak intact, securing an eighth consecutive ITU World Triathlon Series win on the Gold Coast. In Cape Town, GB Triathlete Vicky Holland returned from injury in style as she claimed her first ITU World Triathlon Series win.

With The Vitality World Triathlon London hosting what is arguably the most competitive field in an ITU World Series event this season across both the men’s and women’s races, it will be fascinating to see who will reign supreme on the iconic London 2012 Hyde Park course.

Whilst talking about the race, Olympic champion, Alistair Brownlee, said, “The course has become iconic on the World Triathlon Series because of its Olympic legacy and location in the heart of London. All of the British athletes will appreciate the home support.”

Marisol Cassado, president of the ITU, said: “The Vitality World Triathlon London holds special significance in the Series. Not only is it one of the longest-standing host within the World Triathlon Series, the course became a part of history as the site of the 2012 London Olympics. Since then, the race has continued to make history with top-notch mass participation and elite competition.”

Both the Men’s and Women’s elite races will take place on Sunday the 31st May. The Men’s is at 15:05 and the Women’s 16:45. Tickets for the Grandstand are £27.75 for adults and £11.00 for children (under 15 years old). Tickets can be purchased here: http://worldtrilondon.com/event_info/grandstand/
