Great Britain Team celebrate gold in Weyer

The Great Britain Team celebrated gold medal-winning success in Weyer at the weekend, with European titles in both the elite and age-group races at the ETU Powerman Duathlon European Championships.

The Great Britain Age-Group Team celebrated three European Champions; Joanna Freeman (20-24) – featured on our website last week - Elspeth Knott (60-64) and Barbara Law (70-74). 
 
There were also three silvers won by Ewan Taylor (30-34), Elizabeth Burgess (40-44) and Sarah Gill (50-54).  Great Britain’s final medallists from Weyer were Lauren Kirchel (20-24) and Emma Faulkner (35-39), who both won bronze. 

It wasn’t only age-group success for the Great Britain Team, with no less than three elite European Champions. Katie Hewsion celebrated gold in the senior race, Georgina Schwiening in the U23 race and George Goodwin in the junior event. 

Phil Wylie won bronze in the elite men’s race and a Great Britain Team comprising Georgina Schwiening,

Phil Wylie, Katie Hewison and Danny Russell won gold in the senior mixed relay.
