Tim Don starts the Edmonton ITU Triathlon World Cup ranked number one this weekend in Canada and Tom Bishop is part of a large team of British athletes in Holten, Netherlands.

Sunday’s race in Edmonton features strong competitors from the USA, but Canada will miss home favourite and double Olympic medallist, Simon Whitfield, who has withdrawn due to injury.

Don continues his busy racing schedule, which saw him compete at the GE Canary Wharf triathlon last week. He goes into a rematch with Jarrod Shoemaker (USA), who narrowly beat him in Canary Wharf.

London 2012 Olympians, Manuel Huerta (USA) and Kyle Jones (Canada) are likely to amongst the key contenders, but Britain’s Adam Bowden, Mark Buckingham and Matt Gunby will fancy their chances. Loughborough based Jordanian athlete, Lawrence Fanous is also racing.

In the Netherlands, Tom Bishop is part of the British team at the Holten ITU Triathlon Premium European Cup. The ITU World Junior and U23 medallist will race alongside his twin brother, David and Phil Wolfe in the standard distance event.

Natalie Milne, Eloise Crowley, Emily McLoughlin, Victoria Johnston and Lucy Smith are all set for the women’s race, whilst a host of elite juniors, including Ellie Walton, take on the Holten’s sprint distance course in the ETU Triathlon Junior European Cup.

Many of Britain's other top athletes, including Will Clarke, will race at the French Grand Prix event in Paris tomorrow morning (Saturday).
