26th June – Grassholme Triathlon

A standard distance triathlon, taking place in one of the most beautiful parts of the North Pennines. A hilly and tough course, but well worth the views!

A 1500m swim, 40km cycle and 11km run. Both the bike and run courses include decent climbs, taking in some of the most beautiful scenery there is… in our humble opinion. Where possible, the main roads have been avoided, with the majority of the cycle route and all of the run route taking place on unclassified, yet tarmacked roads.

We are extremely grateful to Northumbrian Water for allowing us to use the reservoir and to Teesdale Sailing Club for supporting our event.

3rd July – Alnwick Junior Triathlon @ Druridge Bay

Based around the Druridge Bay Country Park on the beautiful Northumberland coast approximately 3 miles south Amble. The Alnwick Junior Tri @ Druridge is an open water triathlon for TS1, TS2, TS3 and Youth age groups. The open water swim takes place in the freshwater Ladyburn Lake within the park. The bike course will take you out along a scenic traffic free tarmac route between the park and the dunes, before you return back to the park to complete the run course around the footpaths and meadow tracks on the south side of the lake. The park offers cafe and toilet facilities, a kids play area to keep the little ones entertained, as well as free parking and easy access to the beautiful beach, perfect for a fun family day out.
