National Water Sports Centre offers final call for age groupers

Published:

In a quick turnaround from last weekend’s Eton Sprints at Dorney Lake, age-group sprinters will be at it again this weekend, this time for the Nottingham Triathlon.

960 triathletes will take the stage at the National Water Sports Centre on Saturday morning in a hope to claim the final spots on the Great Britain Age-Group Team for the ITU Sprint Distance Triathlon World Championships in Chicago later this year. The previous places were granted following NiceTri St Neots Triathlon and Eton Sprints earlier this month.

The flat course is known to push the race tempo, playing into the hands of those looking for a fast and fierce journey to the finish line.

The 750m swim takes place in the regatta lake, with a simple out and back course followed by four laps (20km) of the perimeter lake road on the bike.

The final 5km run will test what competitors have left in their legs as they push past the grandstand to the finish.

One Step Beyond have organised the event and for the first time, British Triathlon will be hosting live timing on our website in order to allow you to follow friends and family as they progress round the course. To access it from Saturday morning, please visit here.
