On Sunday 17th July Woodhorn Museum & QE2 Country Park will play host to the QE2 Woodhorn Museum Triathlon.
The QE2 Woodhorn Museum triathlon was the first event in the country to be awarded the British Triathlon 2 Star Event Mark of Quality. Vo2Max racing events take pride in this and are always striving to improve the standard and quality of events.
There is a race for everyone, sprint, standard and a relay! So take your pick….
The QE2 Woodhorn Museum triathlon is one of the oldest triathlons in the county and has been host to ETU European and World Qualifiers attracting a wide range of competitors from all abilities.
The swim will be in the clear shallow QE2 lake, which is set within the country park grounds. The Lake is not exposed to current or tides so this makes the swim a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. The cycle route will take you out towards the coast with some breath-taking views along the coast line. The multi lap run will be on the footpath that winds its way through the woodland that surround the lake, each run lap passes through the Museum keeping it within viewing distance of the transition and finish area making it a great spectator sport.
