Attention all Eastern Event Organisers: information regarding the Eastern Region Race Series for 2015
The 2014 season has not yet completed and we’re already looking forward to the 2015 season and the planning for the adult and children’s race series accordingly.
As for the last few years we are planning to hold a full road league series for adults and children, additionally we have championship events as follows:-
Ø Tristar and Youth Triathlon
Ø Tristar and Youth Aquathlon
Ø Sprint (incorporating Junior championship)
Ø Standard
Ø Long Distance; at least a 70.3 type event or Long 2 (BTF Rules - http://britishtriathlon.org/britain/documents/about/2013_btf_rulebook_revisions.pdf)
We have the option of running a Cross league series, including cross duathlons and cross triathlons or a one off cross event; this is dependent on the number of cross races that express an interest (we need five different events for a league).
The timetable for the process is given below, the first deadline is 1 November 2014 for expressions of interest. Please note that we are not requesting donations to the region to cover the cost of trophies for 2015.
Please note: races wishing to feature in the race series must be registered with Triathlon England and published on their Events website by that date. They must also confirm that they will book a TE official for the race.
Timetable:
By 1 November
Ø Event organiser to register event with Triathlon England
Ø Event organiser to register interest in participating in the Race Series (email richard@triathlonenglandeast.org)
o Inclusion in League
o Nominate as a championship event
o For children’s event, nomination as an IRC qualifier
It is okay to express interest in league or championship but we will only select the event for one.
22 November
Ø Eastern Region committee to issue the draft series to race organisers
6 December
Ø Final confirmation from race organisers that their event will feature and to state their registration opening date (if known). We do ask if we can be given at least two weeks notice of an event opening date, especially for children’s races so we can publicise accordingly.
13 December
Ø Eastern Region publishes the Race Series for 2015
