The final Regional Lead Coach for the soon-to-launch Skills School project has been successfully recruited, resulting in a full compliment of ten Lead Coaches across England.
We are pleased to announce the latest addition to the Skills School team. Rob Bridges has successfully been recruited as the Skills School Lead Coach for Yorkshire. All ten regions across England now have a Skills School Lead Coach and the project is on track for its September launch.
Skills School provides a unique blend of participation and performance, providing athletes the opportunity to operate alongside the Regional Academies and having sight of the next level of the Triathlon England pathway.
The specifically designed Skills School curriculum will be delivered in collaboration with coaches nationwide, across both children’s clubs and the Performance Programme. For regional children’s Club Coaches it will support their continued development by offering excellent experiential learning opportunities. Crucially for coaches, it will not only improve what they coach but also how they coach.
England Pathway Manager, Matt Divall, said, “I’m delighted to now have all of our Skills School Regional Lead coaches appointed. All 10 Leads are eager to launch Skills School within the Regions, especially following our recent Pilot Days in the North East and South Central.
Rob was an outstanding candidate, demonstrating his creativity during the process. He joins a team of passionate and motivated coaches who are currently attending junior races and undertaking club visits to build awareness of Skills School across the regions.
