St Helens Tri Club are helping triathletes gain open water swim experience ahead of the St Helens Triathlon...

St Helens Tri club are helping novice triathletes gain invaluable experience by hosting novice open water swim sessions and a series of GO TRI events in the build up to the St Helens Triathlon on the 25th September 2016.

The triathlon is run in aid of the Steve Prescott Foundation and is in its second year. The swim takes place at Eccleston Mere before a cycle into Orrell and a run around Rainford. Participants can take part in either sprint or olympic distance. To enter click here

Prior to the event participants can take part in Open Water swim sessions on Eccleston Mere on a Monday at 630pm. Novice participants will be taken out by a Level 2 qualified coach to learn new open water swimming skills and techniques. The sessions cost £3 for members and £5 for members with all proceeds going to the Steve Prescott Foundation. For more information email swim@beurbest.com

As well as hosting the novice training St Helens Tri will also be holding a series of GO TRI events in the build up to the St Helens Triathlon. The first on Monday 25th July had 26 participants take part. For most of these participants it was the first time. For a list of GO TRI events click here
