September saw the return of the British Triathlon Super Series to Scotland as the GE Strathclyde Park Triathlon took place in the iconic Strathclyde Country Park, the venue for the 2014 Commonwealth Games triathlon.
The event included elite, paratriathlon and age-group races with the event being the second of three qualifiers for the GE Great Britain Age-Group Team at the 2013 Alvana ETU Triathlon European Championships.
In the elite races, Katie Hewison, became the 2012 GE Strathclyde Park Triathlon Champion after beating off strong competition from Lauren Campbell and Ashlee Bailie who came second and third respectively.
Scotland’s Nicholls makes it a Great Britain double finishing ahead of Australian Olympian Brendan Sexton in second and fellow Scot David McNamee in third.
