Watch triathlon at Glasgow 2014

Published:

The free-to-view Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games triathlon events will be the third time that the sport features in the Commonwealth Games.

Triathlon first appeared in Manchester 2002, followed by Melbourne 2006 and with an absence in Dehli 2010, triathlon returns on 24 and 26 July at Strathclyde Country Park.

The kick-off event of The Games, The men’s and women’s elite races take place on Thursday 24 July and will follow the Olympic format: 1500m swim, 40km cycle, 10km run. The triathlon mixed relay gets underway on Saturday 26 July and promises to be full of excitement and thrills, where each team comprises two males and two females, each completing a 250m swim, 6km bike and 1600m run.

If you didn’t get your hands on that all-important Grandstand ticket, all three races have non-ticketed, free-to-view access so you can come along and show your support for Team England, Team Wales and Team Scotland.

More details are included below, with a downloadable course map for each of the races, including information on the free-to-view areas so you can pick your spot!  Also, you will find more information on transport so you can plan your journey to the venue.
