The Highley Triathlon returns for a fourth year. Shropshire's toughest Sprint Triathlon has grown year on year, with participant's looking for not only a tough course, but one set in stunning scenery. The Triathlon starts with the 400 meter swim in our Heated Open Air Pool, out of the pool and into our secured gated Transition area you change from Swim to Bike, once onto the open roads you head onto an out and back ride with a loop in the middle, the ride is set in the Shropshire Countryside, after the initial 2 mile descent out of the village you embark on your first steep hill, keep your eyes peeled for our motivating messages on the road though. Once at the top it's flat for a few miles and you can really get your head down and crank up the speed, once you have completed the loop you will retrace your way back to the Severn Centre, but before then you have one more steep hill to conquer. Back into Transition and change from Bike to Run you then head out onto the 5km run that will test everything you have got. It's mainly off road and again if you can lift your head to look at the scenery it's stunning, set in the Severn Valley, you will run alongside the River Severn, over the historic Severn Valley Railway and to finish your journey is the small matter of Heart break Hill, a 1km climb from the railway back up to the Centre and the finish line. New for 2016 is our Heart Break Hill King of the Mountain competition with a prize for the quickest ascent.
