Triathlon has made good progress with gender diversity. Of our overall membership, females represent 30.8% however, this changes significantly with our Go Tri programme which has a 50/50 gender split.
This was recognised in early 2017 when we won National Governing Body of the Year at the Women’s Sports Trust #BeAGameChanger Awards in recognition of our approach to increasing female participation and raising the profile of women in triathlon.

Triathlon is also one of a minority of sports who pay equal prize monies to our elite athletes.
As an organisation, in 2016 the Board made clear its intention to increase female representation on the Board by legislating a minimum of 30% gender representation. The table below illustrates gender diversity amongst our Boards.
The Senior Management has 50%, or 3 of the 6 Executive Team Directors are female.
In 2016 the Male/Female staff gender split was 48/52, whilst in 2017 it shifted to 51/49.
