British Triathlon and Triathlon England are looking to recruit a National Development Manager with a specific lead role for open water swimming to drive forward our strategy and operations in this exciting area of our business. Taking a largely single sport approach, leading the development and delivery of open water swimming programmes and initiatives, the role will specifically lead and manage our new open water swimming programme; Beyond Swim (www.beyondswim.org). Working heavily with open water venues across England, our strategic programme partners Swim England and Royal Lifesaving Society UK (RLSS UK) as well as other partners and stakeholders both within and beyond the open water swimming community, the successful candidate will need well-developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. The successful candidate will also have strong understanding of leisure operators and general venue operations, with corresponding experience in this sector.

Despite the current challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic for the sport and physical activity sector and society more generally, we are committed to our strategy and vision and are investing in the long-term future and sustainability of our sport. The power of sport, physical activity and an active lifestyle have never been more important than they are now and swim, bike, run can play a huge part in this.

British Triathlon is the National Governing Body for Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquathlon in Great Britain, responsible for raising the profile and delivering medal-winning performances and helping everyone discover, enjoy and achieve in triathlon. Triathlon England is one of the three Home Nations of British Triathlon, the other two being Triathlon Scotland and Welsh Triathlon. The three Home Nation Associations are responsible for all aspects of triathlon in their respective countries and contribute to the work of British Triathlon.

The role will be based at the British Triathlon headquarters located at Loughborough University; however, there is scope for negotiation on this for an exceptional candidate.
