The regional series is open to athletes between the ages of 8 & 16 (age as of December 31st 2024)
To be entered automatically for the East Midlands Junior Race Series individual league you MUST have East Midlands as the region shown on your home nation membership card. To attain points for your club, your club name must also be shown on your home nation membership card.
There are five age classifications for 2024 based on year of birth. Age for each group are as of 31st December 2024:
- TriStar Stars: 8 years old (born 2016)
- TriStar 1: 9-10 years old (born 2014 / 2015)
- TriStar 2: 11-12 years old (born 2012 / 2013)
- TriStar 3: 13-14 years old (born 2010 / 2011)
- Youth: 15-16 years old (born 2008 / 2009)
Overall positions for 2024 in the Series will be based on points, the winning athlete in each category being awarded 1000, points are then awarded based on the time difference behind the winning time, not just positions.
Overall positions will be based on the best 5 results from the overall 8 events in the Junior Race Series.
If you are not already a home nation (Triathlon England) member and wish to join or wish to renew please do so before the first event of the series. When you join or if you have already joined please ensure that you put East Midlands down for your home region.
Points WILL NOT be back dated.
Please ensure, when athletes complete race entry forms they use the same name (in full) in the same format (for example Jennifer Yellow-Hat should not be entered as Jen Yellow Hat) that is displayed on their Home Nations Membership Card and their Membership Number is included. This ensures that the points are allocated to the correct athlete.

How are points calculated?
The East Midlands Junior Race Series is governed by the East Midlands Triathlon Regional Committee. All races are sanctioned by British Triathlon and therefore competitors and spectators must abide by the rules of the British Triathlon.

IRC Qualification
Each year a squad of 3 boys and 3 girls from Tristar 2 & Tristar 3 are selected to represent East Midlands in the Inter Regional Championships. This selection is based on their performances in a specific qualifying race(s). In 2020 this will now change to be 4 boys and 4 girls from both TS2 and TS3.
