Bursary Boost for clubs in the East Midlands

Published:

Clubs based in the East Midlands are being offered a bursary to support three coaches or activators of each affiliated club to attend courses to continue their development.

The bursary is designed to help alleviate the potential financial burden that clubs may have experienced throughout the pandemic.

All coaches and activators must now attain and retain a safeguarding qualification suitable for the environment in which they lead and coach in our sport.

A safeguarding bursary of 50% per person per course is being offered to support coaches and activators of British Triathlon affiliated community clubs to undertake safeguarding training, up to a maximum of three places per club.

“Following the recent announcement regarding safeguarding, we wanted to show our support in what has been a difficult year for community sport. The committee were unanimous, all voting in favour to offer financial support and support British Triathlons update in safeguarding standards” said Regional Chair, Lee Wallhead.

Clubs can apply for a bursary by emailing the applicants’ names, dates of their course, an email confirmation of payment and club bank details for repayment of up to three places to Eastmidstri@yahoo.com

Applications will close 30 June 2021 and will only be accepted for Triathlon England affiliated Community clubs at the time of application.
