It is with regret that I have to announce the cancelation of the East Region Junior Race Series for 2020. Please read the statement from the East Region committee.
In response to the current guidance being issued by British Triathlon that no events should take place until the 30th April 2020. The regional committee has decided to cancel the East Region Race Junior Series for 2020.
We have not taken this decision lightly but in the light of the rapidly changing situation, we feel it is essential. Based on the government’s advice to restrict unnecessary travel and contact with others, we feel that it is our duty to take these steps to help protect the health and wellbeing of athletes, officials, coaches, volunteers and spectators and to alleviate the risk of an additional burden on the emergency services at a hugely testing time.

At this time no decision has been made about the IRC qualification events or the IRC event itself. We will await further guidance from British Triathlon before any decision on these are made.

Please look out for online interactive sessions for kids to take part in. These are being launch by Tri East in the coming days so please follow the Tri East Facebook page for news of these.

I hope that once the current restrictions by British Triathlon are lifted some events will still be able to take place. I will ask British Triathlon to amend the webpage accordingly and your events will all still be listed just as non league events. Please could I ask that you let me know if your event is cancelling so I can update both the web and facebook pages.
I hope you will understand the committee postion and I feel that events that are still able to take place will see a large uptake in subscriptions once restrictions are lifted.
