Eastern Region Relays a great success

Go Beyond once again hosted the Eastern Region Relays at Box End Park with lots of support from the region's clubs

Congratulations to Steve Adams and his team from Going Beyond Sport for putting on a great event and well done to all the clubs that took part to make it a memorable event.

This is the second year that Going Beyond Sport have hosted the Box End Team Relays to incorprate the Eastern Region Relays with 56  teams participating.  Some statistics on the event:

  • 56 teams of 3 each completing a 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run.
  • 56 teams in 2015 compared to 33 teams in 2014.
  • Teams came from 14 separate clubs.
  • 10 Eastern Region Clubs were represented.
  • 4 Clubs from outside of the Eastern Region attended, Greenlight PT from South Central, BRAT from West Midlands, Wellingborough & District AC and Welland Valley Tri from East Midlands.
  • Clubs with the most teams were East Essex Tri, Greenlight PT and Nice Tri Club with 8 teams each.  Tri-Anglia had 7 teams and both Tri Sport Epping and Cambridge Tri Club had 6 teams.
  • Other clubs from the Eastern Region represented were Ely Tri Club, Hemel Hempstead, Transition Tri, Hoddesdon Tri and King's Lynn Tri Club.

Prize Winners:

  • 1st Female Team - Hemel Hempsteads "Women 1"
  • 2nd Female Team - Nice Tri Club's "Antelopes"
  • 3rd Female Team - Greenlight PT's "Green Goddesses"
  • 1st Mixed Team - Tri Sport Eppings "Torpedos"
  • 2nd Mixed Team - Cambridge Tri Club's "Chequred"
  • 3rd Mixed Team - BRAT "Women + 1"
  • 1st Male Team - Nice Tri Club's "Foxes"
  • 2nd Male Team - Greenlight PT's "Green Machines"
  • 3rd Male Team - Cambridge Tri Club's "Striped"
