Gosfield Sprint Triathlon hosted the 2016 Eastern Region Sprint Championships today
With fine weather and the usual excellence in race organisation by Born2Tri, 200 triathletes enjoyed some great racing in the lovely lanes of North Essex.
Regional Champions received trophies in the under 20, 21-39, 40-54 and 55+ age categories, winners being:-
- Female Senior: Emily Kampf, Tri Sport Epping
- Female Vet: Jo Sullivan, East Essex Tri
- Male Junior: George Cook
- Male Senior: Mark Sanford, Dunmow Tri
- Male Vet: Ian George, East Essex Tri
- Male Super Vet: Richard Fuller, East Essex Tri
The final championship event of the year is the Monster Middle taking place 21 August. You can enter that race at http://www.monsterracing.net/middle2016.html ; to qualify for the champions trophy you will need to be a Triathlon England members (also known as BTF), with the Eastern Region listed as your home region. The Sprint Distance Championship is one of the seventeen races in the 2016 Eastern Region League.
