Introducing Infinity Tri

Renamed from Blackwater Junior Tri, Infinity will now have it's own children and adult's section

Message from Infinity Tri:

To Infinity and Beyond!

We would like to introduce you to the Infinity Tri Club.  We are changing our name from Blackwater Junior Tri club from 1st September as we have had such an interest from the kid’s parents wanting to train having got the triathlon bug too, that rather than keeping them with our adult coaching club SpringEdge Coaching, we would merge together to form our family friendly Infinity Tri Club.

Both the kids and parents can train at similar times, or alternatively on separate occasions if they want to get away from each other meaning that in today’s busy times we can fit everything in!

The new club name resulted from a club competition and the final choice was from one of our kids pretending to be good old Buzz Light year in order to complete the training session.  Our club captain Charlotte suggested the name Infinity, which fits us perfectly, as it suggests the same characteristics as Buzz - always be brave and having courage.  Let’s face it in Triathlon we need both those things no matter what our age and experiences are!

We currently host training sessions in Maldon, Witham and Chelmsford in Essex.  The small junior club has been growing over the last two years and is going from strength to strength.  As a result, we have had to get out there and find new places to train to make sure that we can keep up with the kids and what they want to do!

The club has been competing in the Eastern region Kids league for the last 3 years and we have had some amazing results.  There have been lots of winners in all age groups whom we are all super proud of, we also have several children competing at School National level triathlons, cross country and athletics – which is a great achievement.  That’s not to say we only focus on the elite as we also have many who are new to the sport and are entering novice tri’s and loving every moment. This season we are so excited with the number of children competing for us in the Eastern region league – 30 in all.  They have achieved numerous trophies for top-3 finishes.  We are also really lucky to have a great group of coaches always putting the athlete’s first lead by Emma Springham our Head Coach who won the Eastern Region Junior Tri Coach of the year in 2013.
