At October’s East Region AGM, a new committee was voted in, with Claire Jenkinson elected chair.
There are still a number of vacancies for which members can put themselves up for, providing the opportunity to be part of the committee that helps promote the sport within the region.
The East Region Committee’s key roles are to develop triathlon in the region and to represent the region’s members nationally, with the chair responsible for overseeing the committee to support members.
As it currently stands, with roles vacant, the committee consists of:
- Chair – Claire Jenkinson
- Treasurer and Adult League Coordinator – Ali Henson
- Junior League Coordinator – Sam Hill
- Secretary – CJ Henson
- Communications Officer – Charlotte Gowers
- Age-Group and Coaching Coordinator – Frankie Durbin
- Inclusion Officer – Iain Dawson
Jenkinson said: “I’m excited to join you as Chair of the East Region of Triathlon England. Our sport has brought me so much - meeting great people, travel to events, the challenge of all distances. I’m also proud to have encouraged quite a number of friends and family to do their first triathlon, many of whom are now hooked.
“I’m really looking forward to giving something back to the sport, working with members, clubs, coaches and event organisers. I bring with me a lot of experience in business, particularly in events and membership organisations, and I’ll be looking to build a strong committee for our region.”
