Do you want to help shape the future of swim, bike, run? Then why not apply to be part of the Triathlon England Youth Forum.
The Youth Forum was first established in 2019 and, before the pandemic, started to plan and deliver some great initiatives. After a slight pause in recent months, we are now looking to recruit new members aged 14-25 to support the existing group and ensure that younger, more diverse voices are heard and listened to, to support us and help shape our sport for the benefit of children and young people in the future.
About the role
The forum will advise Triathlon England on engaging with young people more effectively around contemporary issues in triathlon and physical activity. The Youth Forum will play an active role in Triathlon England initiatives to widen their impact and coverage and assist with decision making that affects young people within the sport.
The Youth Forum will:
Be People Centred
- Attend meetings to review Triathlon England's work and provide overall guidance on engaging with young people more effectively
- Recruit and induct future members
- Support and challenge each other
Be Ambitious
- Be passionate about doing their best and creating a positive impact in triathlon
- Take on additional responsibilities and tasks as and when required
- Contribute to specific projects and events coordinated by the Triathlon England Youth Forum
Be Inclusive
- Connect with partners and stakeholders
- Work in partnership with Welsh Triathlon, Triathlon Scotland and the Triathlon Trust
- Be the voice of young people within the sport
Do what is right
- Be honest and respectful
- Be the voice of young people within our sport
- To represent the Triathlon England Youth Forum at British Triathlon and other events when required
Be Advisory
- Attend meetings to review Triathlon England's work and provide overall guidance on engaging with young people more effectively
- Contribute to specific projects and events coordinated by the Triathlon England Youth Forum
Be Ambassadors
- Be the voice of young people within the sport
- To represent the Triathlon England Youth Forum at British Triathlon and other events when required
- Work in partnership with Welsh Triathlon, Triathlon Scotland and the Triathlon Trust when necessary
Be Future Leaders
- To collectively plan and deliver youth led events or initiatives on behalf of British Triathlon
- To recruit and induct future members
- Take on additional responsibilities and tasks as and when required
Characteristics we are looking for include:

Time commitment
This will be a two-year, voluntary opportunity and meetings will be held quarterly around traditional school holidays. All reasonable travel and sustenance expenses will be covered for members in line with our policy.
