A regular fixture now on the calendar for over 20 years, the Triathlon Relays Championships provided an opportunity to celebrate team spirit towards the end of the season
Famous for it's 'Organised Chaos' the Triathlon England Club Relay Championships organised by OSB events is always a fixture athletes leave smiling whatever the result. With over 1500 competitors there is a buzz the whole day around the whole venue as team members take their 'rest period' and proceed to support the continuing action.
Teams of four compete in the relay format whereby all four members will swim one after another, before the fourth swimmer hands over to the first cyclist and so on until all four have completed each discipline of a triathlon. With distances of 500m swim, 15km bike and 5km run, the team effectively time trial each segment until the final runner crosses the finish line under the Triathlon England gantry in front of the grandstand.
