2019 was the fourth year the Deva Middle Distance Triathlon was held with the first one having took place in 2016.

Running alongside the Standard Distance race, athletes swam 1.2 miles before taking on a gruelling 87km bike course, a two-lap course through Wales via Eccleston, Rossett and Borras and back into Chester via Alford and Boughton. This was then followed by a 21km run, a three-lap course which saw athletes run over the Old Dee Bridge as well as the suspension bridge, along the Groves and adding an extended section around the meadows.

Event Overview

Tony Cullen completed the course in 3:56:44 to top the overall men's podium, three minutes clear of Nick Drabble in second, to take the tape. Ben Terry rounded off the podium places with a time of 4:02:15.
