2018 has been a year dominated by the weather, with multiple 'Beasts from the East' bringing snow and freezing temperatures.
The unusual extreme weather has sadly had a knock-on effect with events across the country having been postponed or cancelled. Each event organiser will deal with their race differently, so please contact your event organiser if you are unsure about what has happened with your cancelled event.
Amongst the cancelled events were the 2018 ITU Sprint Distance Duathlon Draft Legal Qualifier at Oulton Park. This event originally scheduled for 18 March, has now been re-arranged for Sunday 29 April with entries open until 23 April. This is one of multiple qualifiers across the summer that can enable you to qualify to represent the Great Britain Age-Group Team at ITU World and ETU European Championships across triathlon and duathlon. For more information please visit our Age-Group website.
In addition to this, the first Triathlon England Championship of 2018 was also postponed. The Standard Distance Duathlon Championship at Clumber Park will now take place on 5 May. This was (and still will be) the first of the 2018 Triathlon England Championships, which enable Triathlon England members the opportunity to battle to become the National Champion in their age category.
We have created a calendar of 6 Championships throughout the summer and around the country, to give triathletes, duathletes and aquathletes the opportunity to become their age-group’s English Champion!
