Who are the Triathlon Trust?

The Triathlon Trust is the official charity of British Triathlon. We have been active since 2012 and work in cities, towns and communities across the UK.

What are the Triathlon Trust trying to achieve?

We use the engaging sport of triathlon to encourage children to lead more active and healthier lifestyles.

Since 2012, we have delivered over 100,000 Active Days, providing fun, free and inclusive opportunities for children of all abilities to give triathlon a “tri”.

Our triathlon-based participation events are free to enter, non-competitive, and suitable for children of all abilities, including those with physical disabilities and special educational needs. We provide all the equipment required to participate including bikes, helmets, scooters and floatation devices.

"I feel like an Olympic athlete...just like the ones I saw on the TV!" - Lucy, 9 years old

Our mini-triathlons give up to 1,000 local schoolchildren the opportunity to complete their first triathlon and every child receives a medal for participating. This year we’re delivering fun, free and fully inclusive triathlons for children of all abilities in Bristol, Reading, Great Yarmouth, Staffordshire, Mold, Corby, Bradford...!

We also work in schools, delivering a fun duathlon challenging their pupils to see how far they can collectively travel as a school.

How members can get involved?

By supporting the Triathlon Trust you’ll be helping inspire children to get more active through the fantastic sport of triathlon.

  • Volunteer – Join us as an Event Volunteer and you'll help deliver a fun-filled day of triathlon-based activity for children alongside our friendly, experienced team. We have one-day and regular opportunities available across the country throughout the year. No previous experience is necessary - just enthusiasm and energy! If you are interested in volunteering with us, please visit our website for more information: www.triathlontrust.org/volunteering and contact us at: volunteer@triathlontrust.org
  • Donate – Support the Triathlon Trust with a one-off or regular donation, or get sponsored for your next challenge. You could even raise funds to support an event in your own community. Visit www.triathlontrust.org/fundraising to find out more.
  • Spread the word – we’ve been described as ‘triathlon’s best kept secret’... help us change that! Follow us on social media and help us spread the word!

Mike Jubb, Chief Executive Officer at the Triathlon Trust, says, “As triathletes we have all experienced the life-changing impact of being fit and healthy.  What better than to pass this on to the next generation? We deliver high quality events to thousands of children each year - and we would love to get the amazing British Triathlon community involved!”
