Sevenoaks Triathlon was first held in 1985, and has been held at least annually since then. The event is run by members of Sevenoaks Triathlon Club, starting with a 400m Sevenoaks Leisure Centre pool swim, then a 25km sporting cycle ride through picturesque Kent countryside, finishing with an undulating run through the national trust's Knole Park through its stunning oak trees and deer.

In 2009 the race was voted best event for less than 500 competitors in 220Triathlon magazine and sells out very quickly every year. For 2017, the British Triathlon Technical Official marked the event as 'excellent' in all categories.
