Bovingdon Beast Duathlon
7 March 2021
Event Overview
As part of our winter series of Duathlons ( including The Ashridge Duathlon – 24 January 2021, The Dorney Duathlon – 7 February, and The Essex Duathlon – 14 February), we are very excited to launch this course that combines a flat and fast run course with a bike course that really does live up to the race’s name!
Challenge yourself with either a Sprint (5.3km-22km-2.7km) or Standard (9.3km-38km-4.7km) consisting of traffic free, flat, tarmac running, around the Drift Limits motor racing circuits and beautiful, yet beastly, cycling in the Chilterns.
The bike course for each race features and out and back to a 1 (Sprint), or 3 (Standard) lap course that features the fearsome 600m climb of Eskdale Avenue, averaging 8.6% (https://www.strava.com/segments/1293786), helping this course earn its name…..and fearsome reputation. The initial out and back section includes a short stretch on a dual-carriageway, and hence all bikes must display a rear red light.
