In 2023 Age Group athletes have the opportunity to again compete in the 2023 Senior British Triathlon Super Series events.
All interested athletes must take part in the Performance Assessment Weekend taking place on the 1st and 2nd April 2023 in and near to Nottingham to prove their skills and ability. Prior to attending the Performance Assessment Weekend athletes who have not participated in the Super Series before should contact their nearest performance academy to prove their bike ability.
Performance Assessment Weekend takes place as the first event on the British Triathlon Youth and Junior Super Series.
All athletes with aspirations to race on the British Youth and Junior Super Series are required to attend the PA’s, with the results from the weekend setting the order of entry for the inital races. The assessments include a swim time-trial on the Saturday followed by a combined, timed bike-run on the Sunday.
Before competing in the Performance Assessment Weekend all non-academy athletes will need to attend a cycling training session with their relevant Regional Academy. More information regarding this will follow shortly.
This year, some senior athletes will also need to attend the Performance Assessments in order to complete for starts in Tier 1 races. Please note, attendance at a cycling training session with the relevant Regional Academy may also be required for some senior athletes prior to the PA’s. Information about which senior athletes will need to attend the PA’s and cycling training sessions is available in the Senior Super Series Selection Policy and Senior Super Series Explained document.
Details are listed below for the 2023 Performance Assessments.
CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) screening will be taking place at this years event. For those racing in World Triathlon or Europe Triathlon events a screening is mandatory prior to entry, whilst it is optional for all other athletes. You can find out more about CRY screening here.
