Finley Jakes

British men’s PTS4 champion Finley Jakes has had multiple international successes during his paratriathlon career to date including World Triathlon Para Cup gold and World Triathlon Para Series silver.

Finley, who won both the British men’s PTS4 Paraduathlon and Paratriathlon titles in 2022, hails from an athletics background having been talent spotted at a para sports day held by England Athletics.

After later adding in the swim and bike to become involved in paratriathlon, Finley made his international paratriathlon debut in 2018 at the Paratriathlon World Cup in Funchal, Portugal.

In October 2021, it was in Portugal where he won his first international medal, winning men’s PTS4 gold at World Triathlon Para Cup Alhandra. A week later, Finley made his World Triathlon Para Championships debut, finishing ninth in Abu Dhabi.

The medals continued in 2022 with Finley finishing on the podium at his first World Triathlon Para Series event, claiming silver at WTPS Montreal in July 2022.

A regular on the podium at British Paratriathlon Championships, with a silver and two bronze medals from his first three Championships, Finley became British Paratriathlon champion for the first time in July 2022, winning men’s PTS4 gold at Eton Dorney.

The podiums didn’t stop there with Finley earning bronze at World Triathlon Para Cup Alanya before rounding off his year with a seventh-place finish at the World Triathlon Para Championships.
