Multisport is made up of the non–Olympic disciplines, including Duathlon, Aquathlon, Cross-triathlon and Long Distance triathlon.
ITU and ETU elite Multisport Championships
British Triathon will select teams to go to the elite World and European Multisport Championships each year. The selection policies for these events including team capacities and selection requirements can be found in the Selection Policies section of the website. Athletes who have any queries on these policies should address them to the named contact in each document.
Long Distance Triathlon
Racing elite at long distance triathlon
British Triathlon does not currently run an Elite Licence system. Athletes who wish to race elite in Ironman, Challenge and other long distance triathlon events may be asked by the organisers for an Elite Licence.
For 2020 licences, the criteria will be changing to include qualification at specified domestic races. Athletes wanting to qualify for a licence for the 2020 season should refer to the 'Long distance elite criteria and procedures 2019 onwards' document.
2019 will be used as a transition year, where athletes can qualify using the old or the new criteria, so that race plans for 2019 are not affected. Athletes applying using the old criteria will need to achieve two results within 8% of the elite/pro winner at any Ironman, Challenge or ITU race (please refer to 'Long distance pro standards 2017' document).
For any queries on this please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
The first criteria is that athletes must be current members of one of the Home Nations Associations and be eligible to race for GBR (which includes holding a British passport).
