Background: Dan has been involved in triathlon as an athlete and coach since the late 80’s and has worked in the World Class Programme since it’s inception in the late 90’s. During this period he has worked in a number of sports including GB Boxing, British Diving as well as with the English Institute of Sport. He has also had 2 separate stints at British Triathlon firstly as a coach from 1999 to 2008 and then latterly, since 2014, as the Olympic Pathway Manager. |
![]() ![]() Rick VelatiJob Title: England Talent Head Coach Main Duties: to lead the England Talent Squad, working with athletes, support staff, coaches and parents. To lead GBR youth, junior and U23 championship teams. Recently appointed lead coach for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Background: English literature graduate from Loughborough University, UK Sport Elite Coach programme 2007-2010. Lives in: Loughborough with wife Natalie and daughters Maddison and Harper. Favourite Sportsperson: anyone committed, clean and leading by example. One favourite would be Mohammad Ali. Fun fact: At age 19 I cycled 2,500 miles in 5 weeks round France with a map, tent, gas stove, panniers and a bit of cash! |
![]() ![]() Katie ParrishJob Title: Pathway Co-Ordinator Main Duties: Responsible for ENG operation and logistics. Background: Katie studied both Sport Science & Geography as well as a Masters in Sports Management at Loughborough Uni. As an elite Lacrosse player, she has a background in high performance sport, playing internationally for Wales since the age of 15. She also has a wide-ranging set of experiences including being vice chair of the Loughborough University Sport Senate and leading the University Lacrosse club. |
![]() ![]() Blair CartmellJob Title: ENG Athlete Lead Main Duties: Responsible for supporting & developing athletes in the South. Background: Blair has been involved in the sport for since the early 2000’s as an athlete and a coach. Blair began coaching in Stirling and was Scotland’s Head Coach at the Commonwealth Games, led the Stirling High Performance Centre and the Scottish Next Gen Programme. More recently, before taking on his ENG role, Blair has coached at the Bath Centre as well as working with a few leading long distance athletes including George Goodwin. |
![]() ![]() Steve LloydJob Title: ENG Athlete Lead Main Duties: Responsible for supporting & developing athletes in the Midlands. Background: Steve has been coaching Triathlon for 20 years and during this period has successfully run his own coaching business Absolute Triathlon – his focus always being on younger athletes. Steve has led the West Midlands Regional Academy since 2006 with great success. More recently he has worked to build a high-performance programme based at Nottingham University. |
![]() ![]() Jordan HullJob Title: ENG Athlete Lead Main Duties: Responsible for supporting and developing athletes in the North. Background: Jordan comes from a swim background and began competing in triathlon at the age of 10. A member of North East Academy he was a regular feature at the front of British Super Series races leading to ENG selection. He was captain of the ENG programme alongside some key current World Class athletes, Alex Yee, Ben Dijkstra, Olivia Mathias, and Kate Waugh. Jordan studied Sports Science while training at the Leeds Triathlon Centre and prior to his appointment with ENG spent two years working in the World Class Paratriathlon Programme as a training guide. |
