GO TRI Triathlon Training Course - RunCamp
Let Runcamp help you train for your first triathlon or GO TRI, or simply to learn the skills and techniques needed to give triathlon a go.
Our qualified coaches will deliver 7 sessions tailored to complete beginners to improve your swimming, cycling, running and transition techniques.
This 7 week course will lay the foundations for you to be able to take part in your first triathlon event.
During the course you will practise swimming, cycling, running and transition techniques, all designed for novices, all we ask is that you come with an open mind and willingness to have a bit of fun.
The sessions will run on Wednesday evening 7pm - 8pm at the Hampshire Collegiate School for 7 weeks from 21st March 2018.
Week one: introduction to the coaches and running session.
This is a chance to meet the group, get involved in some running training activities and pick up some valuable tips on becoming a more efficient runner.
You’ll need to bring running kit and your running shoes, plus a bottle of water.
Week two: swim session.
This week is all pool based, the coaches will be working with you to improve your swimming technique and fitness in the pool.
You’ll need swimming costume, goggles, towel and any swimming accessories you might already own (but none are compulsory).
Week three: bike session.
On a closed road section the session will focus on handling skills and how to ride your bike in a triathlon. Any bike will be welcome to this session.
Week four: run session.
Back on the run and in this slightly more fitness based session we’ll be taking you through some structured intervals designed to improve your speed and fitness, the group will stay together throughout the session to keep it fun and social.
Week five: swim session.
In the pool and we will be spending more time building up your fitness, skills and swim technique.
Week six: transitions.
This week you’ll need your bike and running kit as we begin to master the transitions, often referred to as the fourth discipline. Well take you through everything you’ll need to do plus how to mount and dismount your bike with ease.
Week seven: the practise.
In this final week, we will be going through a training triathlon, putting into practise everything from the previous 6 weeks. You’ll be completing a swim, bike and run. So bring all of your kit and we’ll make you a triathlete!
