Course Information
The focus of this Skills School Day will be on open water swimming skills. For some triathletes this might be the first time they have swum in open water so for them the day will be about experiencing the open water environment. For other triathletes who have swum in open water before we will be working on exploring and enhancing their open water swim skills. The day will be run alongside the East Midlands Development Squad triathletes so there will also be an opportunity to learn alongside more experienced triathletes.
Triathletes who don't own a wetsuit can borrow one on the day - there are 20 wetsuits available in various sizes. We might not be able to find the perfect size, but we should be pretty close. Parents whose child doesn't have a wetsuit should sign up and pay online - this will reserve a wetsuit for the child.
If the triathlete does have a wetsuit they can bring, then parents should book their child on the day direct through John Crewe at skillsschooleastmidlands@britishtriathlon.org.
What are Skills School Days?
Skills School days are a great opportunity for young triathletes to develop their triathlon skills in a fun and engaging environment. They are designed to build a young athlete's all-round skills and attributes, not just focusing on sport-specific skills.
