Volunteer Overview

It would be fantastic if you could help at our event. We do obtain some friends and family to help but we always need the following: 1. lane counters. In the pool organising the lanes for swimmers and making sure they start correctly, swim the correct number of lengths and then exit the lane safely. You will also be taking their swimming time when they finish. 2. transition manager. to manage the small transition area to ensure that athletes are supported and also to take their time as they exit transition. 3. route marshals - we have 3 marshals on the route - one at the turn round point (out and back course) and 2 at road junctions for safety. The time commitment is not great and helpers assemble at 09:30 and the event finishes at 11:15. It is a very inexpensive event to attract new athletes just wanting to have a go and so we can only offer a coffee from the machine and a finishers cake as payment - and of course ours and the competitor gratitude.
