London Regional Academy Trials for the 2019 Season

Below are the dates for the London Academy trials for the 2019 season applications. Entries for this are now open and the deadline for application in Monday 24th September

This is a 3-stage process:

1. Online Application and review (see link below)

2. Swimming and Running Time Trials

3. Academy Selection Day

The Triathlon England London Regional Academy Swimming and Running Trials will take place on Sunday 07th October at St Mary's University Twickenham TW1 4SX for the 2018/ 19 Squad. If you are successful at these trials you will be invited to attend the 3rd stage of the process on Sunday 21st October. Shortly after this invitations to join the Academy as either a full member or affiliate member will be sent out.

Applications are invited from London based athletes who will be racing at first year YOUTH level in 2018, who are likely to achieve 300 combined points or above.  This will provide an opportunity for new or younger athletes to experience the trials and get used to the process.

Only outstanding athletes achieving 320 points at the trials over the age of 14 will be offered an affiliate or 340 points or above full academy place and this will be subject to individual confirmation.

Current academy athletes who have not shown commitment to triathlon during the 2018 season will only be offered affiliate place during the 2019 season.

Race results 2018:
You may be given a place in the academy based on your race results form 2018, however you may also be de-selected or not given a place due to race results, no matter what points you score.

Online applications can be made HERE- the trials will be open to anyone who can achieve the required standards. You will be informed by email if your application to trial is successful as soon as the applications have been reviewed. If you are offered a place in the Academy or Affiliate squad you will be required to become a member of Triathlon England if you aren't already.

You should read the Regional Academy Guide very carefully; it will help when deciding whether or not to apply.

The Regional Academy Points Calculator times quoted are based on those of programme triathlete's single discipline performances.  Selection to the Academy will be primarily based on points achieved at the trials supported by information provided in the application process and race results.

The distances you will trial under will be based on your age on the 1st of September 2018
