Junior Series Rules
Series Eligibility
The Series is open to anyone who is a member of a London club or resides in London.
It is not neccessary to be a member of a triathlon club or Triathlon England to participate in the Series.
There is no requirement to register to be included in the Series.
Points Scoring
London Region Series Races are grouped into triathlons, duathlons and aquathlons. Scores are calculated in usual way (i.e. relative to the first London finisher), but Triathlons given greater weighting:
- Triathlons: based on a maximum of 1,000points (as used to previously)
- Duathlons / Aquathlons: based on maximum of 500points
The score for each individual in the series are is based on the cumulative points from:
- the best 2 triathlon scores
+ the best 1 duathlon score
+ the best 1 aquathlon score
So the maximum series points available for an individual is 3,000 (1,000 + 1,000 + 500 + 500).
All athletes are awarded points based on a percentage of the 1st London athlete time for their category, and the number of points available for the type of event. Triathlons are based on 1,000 points for the leading London athlete, and aquathlons/duathlons on 500points.
e.g. First London athlete in a triathlon finishes is 20 minutes and gets 1000 points. Second London athlete is 22 minutes gets 909 points. (20/22 x 1000 = 909) and so on. This is different to previous years as we are only counting London athlete results.
