Crystal Palace Juniors take on LEJOG!

Published:

Starting on the first day of the half term holidays, Crystal Palace Junior Triathletes will be travelling the distance from the southernmost point of the British Isles, Land’s End, to the northernmost point, John O’ Groats as a team!

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, their club race (The Crystal Place Triathlon) was cancelled in 2020 which has led to a significant financial losses for the club.

With that in mind, 20 plucky juniors will virtually scale the nation in order to provide themselves and their peers with training opportunities for years to come.

The 1,347km challenge, being completed in 10 days, will see them having to run and/or cycle a collective 134.7km each day in order to reach their goal which I’m sure you will agree is no mean feat… especially for a group of athletes who are all 16 years old and younger!

If you would like to support the CPT Juniors with their challenge you can donate to their crowdfunding page via this link: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/crystal-palace-triathletes-covid---keep-tri-ing/backers#start .

Any donations are greatly appreciated and will go a long way to keeping the club flourishing so that other young triathletes can enjoy sport in the south London area.

There are also prizes on offer for those who support their crowdfunder. Up for grabs is a one-to-one strength and conditioning session, a portrait photography session and some top-quality comedy tickets just to name a few!
