London League 2018: Round 4 East London Triathletes Dragon Slayer Duathlon

Published:

Heavy downpours the night before cleared providing perfect racing weather at the Velopark for the East London Triathletes Dragonslayer Duathlon on Sunday 13th May.

Despite clashing with Crystal Palace there was an excellent turn out with 17 London clubs represented and a good number of first timers eager to give the sport a go on this fast but technical closed track course.

For those of you who have raced the Dragonslayer before you will know it is not for the faint hearted. Whilst the race eases in with a 3 mile run and finishes with a 2 mile run the 15 mile bike requires focus to make sure you get the right number of laps. Lots of smiles greated us around the course from the volunteers and other competitors.

Both the overall winners were Serpentine competitors. The Men's winner was Milan Musak (Serpentine) followed by Matthew Field (Army Tri Assoc.) and Tim George in third. The Women's winner was Debbie Clarke (Serpentine) with Laura Brooks runner-up and Paula Bedford in third (all results provisional subject to final confirmation).

Congratulations to the ELT team for a well run and fun event.  Time to get some swim training in now for the rest of the season.
