Thames Turbo Sprint (Race 1) Race Report

Published:

Bank Holiday Monday saw over 400 competitors heading to Hampton Pool for the 3rd race in the series and the first triathlon of the year, the Thames Turbo Sprint Triathlon.

Those arriving for the early start were greeted with unseasonably cold but dry conditions for the 426m swim, 21.5km bike and 5km 2-lap run around Bushy Park.

In the individual competitions, overall honours in the Women's race went to Victoria Solly (Clapham Chasers) in 1:09:22, followed by Natalie Ruffell (Clapham) in second and Anna Lawson (Serpentine) in third.  In the Men's race, honours went to Caleb Kennedy (London Fields TC) in 1:00:13, a few seconds ahead of Will Russell (Thames Turbo) in second and Matthew Stevens (London Fields TC) in third  (all results provisional subject to final confirmation).

In the Team events London Fields TC took 1st place in the Men's, with Clapham taking the remaining honours in the Women's, Mixed and Mob match competitions.

Shout out to Hugo and the team at Thames Turbo for putting on another great race at a great venue.  Only 6 days rest until the London League Series heads west to Crystal Palace for their iconic sprint triathlon.
