Crystal Palace Triathletes put on another top event.
After a damp start to the day it brightened up nicely and the weather was only out shone by the race performances and the Crystal Palace Triathletes event team putting on a superb event for all ages and abilities. The event seems to get better and better each year.
In a massive show of club stength it seemed like every other triathlete was from Windrush TC. Other clubs that took on the event in big numbers were Serpentine RC, Clapham Chasers and of course the host club Crystal Palace Triathletes, to mention a few.
There were enormous numbers of finishers and results have to be thoroughly checked. From the provisional results it looks like Tri London Ladies stormed the female team event with the men’s team event being close but won by Ful on Tri. The mixed team winners going to a strong performance from the Tri London team.

The event was also the club championships event for Windrush TC with at least 60 finishers, which easily outnumbered all other clubs to take the mob match. This included Heran, (visually impaired triathlete,) and his guide getting the biggest cheer of the day exiting the water.
The Saddledrunk age group winner’s shirts go to Jon Horsman (Crystal Palace Triathetes), Lucy Pickering (Windrush TC) and also to Heran (Windrush TC).
Great respect for the huge amount of work and commitment put in by the Crystal Palace team to deliver such a quality event.
The Youth, Junior and tiny kid’s events in both the big and small pools were equally brilliant. Congratulations to all participants and the Crystal Palace Triathlon Team.
