Adult Events and Participation

Alan Spelling is tasked with taking forward the successful organistion of the Senior London League and through this popular series to:

• Support the Regional Manager (RM) to increase the number of events run within the London Region each year.
• Support the RM to increase the range of events, type / size within the London Region each year
• Together with the RM , increase the number of participants at each event each year, particularly smaller / newer events
• Encourage ongoing participation by individuals and teams in a number of events each season
• Encourage ongoing participation by individuals of all ages and gender
• Together with the RM, facilitate and assist events to meet basic quality requirements and to continuously improve
• Encourage individuals to join Triathlon England.

This group will also explore ways to improve the identification of potential age-group champions in the Region and consider ways to provide support to help them fulfil their potential.

Junior Events and Participation

Martin McGuigan is tasked with the organisation and promotion of the Junior London Series encouraging participation in triathlon from the age of 8 through to 16. With the support of the Regional Committee and Regional Manager Martin will be working to support the development of the junior sections of London Clubs and encouraging them to run junior events -  ithese are vital to increasing the participation in, and enjoyment of, the sport by our young athletes. Deborah Challinor coordinates the activities of the Junior Training Squad and the Region’s IRC representation. 

Ensuring First-class Technical Support

Race Officials Coordinator

Peter Lambert will co-ordinate the fair allocation of Race Officials to events and maintain a continued review of their effectiveness. Peter will also encourage the identification and training of new officials and will provide expertise to event organisers on all Technical matters. 

Technical Coordinator

Alan Spelling is tasked with ensuring the provision of  first class technical support for events throughout the Region.

Alan is also currently our Regional Technical Officials Co-ordinator, a BTF position, details are available on the British Triathlon website.
